They have a strong emphasis on teamwork and family. Many of their employees have 10+ years of tenure. Their equipment supports manufacturing plants of the major domestic and international automakers, automotive component companies, aftermarket businesses, aerospace companies, and military installations.  Our Client is hiring a Sales Engineer with knowledge of machinery, part-holding tooling, and automation.

Location: Ann Arbor, MI

Responsibilities

  • Manage and interpret customer requirements – listen to clients and use astute questioning to understand, anticipate, and exceed their needs
  • Recommend tooling (fixturing) and custom machine configuration
  • Work closely with sales team to respond to customer inquiries
  • Join sales calls and occasionally, visit customer factories
  • Machine configuration based on application
  • Pricing based on historical & estimated costs
  • Focus on understanding the fit between customer needs and the company’s capabilities.
  • Create price quotations for machine configuration that aligns with the customer’s needs.
  • Attend and represent the company as required at trade shows or events

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Four-year degree in engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • Capital equipment and or tooling design experience
  • Applications Engineer or Sales Engineer experience
  • Desire to work in an environment that rewards results and loyalty and maintains high ethical standards
  • Self-starter able to successfully operate with limited management supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team to configure custom machines and tooling for customers
  • Ability to develop and articulate the business value that customers will derive from proposed machinery
  • Willing to go over and beyond and work hard in a situation where they may need to wear multiple hats
